Life is crazy. Let me explain.
Tuesday 6:00am - 2:30pm - I work at Nichols Village and set up for 138 people to sit 3 people per table.
Tuesday 3:00pm - I give plasma and get paid $30 to give up all of my nutrients for the price of what it will cost me to get groceries for more nutrients.
Tuesday 8:00pm - J-Train comes over and sleeps while I watch a movie on my TV and DVD Players maiden voyage.
Tuesday 11:00pm - I get dizzy and realize that I didn't replace my nutrients by eating anything since I gave plasma. (Bad Idea). I quickly make myself some ramen.
Wednesday 2:00am - The ramen is preventing me from sleeping so I toss and turn until I fall asleep.
Wednesday 7:00am - I arrive at work in the middle of a snow storm thinking it will be an easy day because all the parties canceled except one group where the guy was waiting to get into their room because I was the only one there. I tear down the tables and chairs set for the 138 people that canceled and set for another group that would end up canceling.
Wednesday 12:30pm - I end up taking 40 minutes for my clocked out lunch break because I had to wait 20 minutes for the cook to make my meal that we now have to pay for. Three tiny chicken fingers.
Wednesday 3:00pm - When I am supposed to be leaving for home I am asked to work since no one could come in because of the snow storm. I agree because my eyes were filled with these $$$$$$$.
Wednesday 5:00pm - I go down to the Fire Grill restaurant, an extension of the Inn, and get a snazzy new shirt and a red bow tie. It's valentines day. The same guy I let into the room that morning sees me working at the restaurant in a different bow tie. He was confused.
Wednesday 9:00pm ish - My phone dies. Remember that when you hear where I was at 1am thursday morning.
Wednesday 11:00pm - I finally get another break and eat. I was about to faint.
Wednesday 11:30pm - I say goodbye to my boss and dig her out of the snow so that she can go home to her daughter who hadn't seen her in 15 hours.
Thursday 12:00am - I have to set a room upstairs.
Thursday 1:00am - I dig out my own car and attempt to make it home after 18 hours of work. I get stuck in the snow three times. Remember I have no phone.
Thursday 2:00am - I give up trying to get home and go to BBC and beg the security guard to let me stay on campus.
Thursday 2:30am - I end up falling asleep in J-Trains extra bed.
Thursday 6:30am - I wake up and put on my dirty close to go back to work.
Thursday 7:00am - I arrive at work and let the same guy into the room upstairs from the day before and the Fire Grill. He is even more confused. I zombie around for several hours.
Thursday 2:30pm - I get sent home. I get stuck in the snow and dig myself out twice I finally make it to the street that my apartment is on and I see that the driveway hadn't been touched and was 3 feet deep in snow. I get frustrated and back into a snow bank. I dig myself out again and walk to my apartment and change into snow clothes and go to BBC to help people dig their cars out and cancel events that I had scheduled for the day. Bummer.
Thursday 4:30pm - I take Jill to work and go past my apartment and park on the street while I pack a bag of clothes and my phone charger so that I can call people.
Thursday 7:00pm - I dig out Jill's car and take it to her at work. J-Train and I go to my apartment and dig out the driveway and complain about my living conditions. I've repented since then.
Thursday 8:00pm - I meet with Jeremy for his ministry credit
Thursday 10:30 I am still at BBC waiting to meet with another guy for ministry credit. I don't know when I will get home but I am tired.
Future events
Thursday Late Night - I "get stuck" in the end of the driveway so that my landlord can't get out in the morning and is forced to talk to me and explain why he didn't clear out the driveway.
Friday Morning 11:00am - After sleeping in I go to work again and collect my last 8 hours which put me at a total of 55.5 hours for the week. that's 40 hours @ $8.50 and 15.5 hours @ $12.75 plus tips from working at the Fire Grill.
Saturday 6:00am - 6:00pm - Work again.
The moral of this story? Don't work 18 hours ever again and don't get these $$$$ in my eyes. Don't use my phone for work related business when working 18 hours. Don't wait 11 hours to eat while working an 18 hour shift. Thank God for great friends and a wonderful family who cares for me.
I wish my plans for the day weren't canceled, but so goes life in situations like these. |
